Professional Bio

Julio A. Ramos Pastrana is an applied economist with research interests in political economy, health economics, and telecommunications policy. He is interested in the effect of political institutions on economic outcomes, as well as the role of public programs on people’s health and telecommunications use. He earned a Ph.D. in economics from Indiana University, an M.A. in economics from El Colegio de México, and a B.A. in economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
